Solid Wood Extendable Dining Table

R 7,900.00

A six to eight-seater extendable oval dining table from the mid previous century, with a solid mahogany top and a heavy and sturdy steel and wood base. The table is much in the style of well-known South African mid-century modern furniture manufacturers Kallenbach's, but there is no maker's mark.

Dining tables from this era with solid wood tops are scarce. It is not only a question of quality but also of practicality, since large solid slabs of wood tend to buckle over time with changes in temperature and humidity. But if done well they can last for centuries. This table has been done with skill.

Condition: Very good. Sanded and treated with a natural wood oil.

Dimensions: 91 x 167 x 73.5 cm (h) and 212.5 cm extended length
