The price is for the pair.
A pair of Swedish modern birch wood chairs from the 1940's by Elias Svedberg for the upmarket Swedish retailer, Nordiska Kompaniet, and later for Knoll in the United States. As such, they are an important example of the development of Scandinavian design just after WWII and are a rare find in South Africa.
Experimental architect-designer Elias Svedberg was born 1913, in Uppsala, Sweden, and hails from a pioneering generation of Scandinavian functionalist designers that includes—among others—Bruno Mathsson and Axel Larsson.
Condition: Excellent. The wood has been stripped and sealed and the upholstery is brand new. We've covered it in a quality Hertex salt and pepper rough weave.
Dimensions: 72 x 68 x 105 cm (h) and 49 cm seat height
