A solid wood pigeonhole cabinet or document organiser from the 1950's or 1960's.
It has three open compartments on top, six smaller compartments below and two larger compartments. These units are just asking to be repurposed in a study or a soulful kitchen or dining room, to store vintage cups and saucers or plates.
The wood is saligna, a type of hard bluegum.
