A cast (non-magnetic) metal figure of a walking cat in the style of Alberto Giacometti’s 1951 sculpture Le Chat. Giacometti is known for lean, heavily textured animal and human figures, and this piece follows that approach with a long body, thin legs, and a rough, hammered-looking surface with a dark finish. The feet have been cut and filed flat, which lets the figure stand on a table or shelf. The maker is unknown, no signature or foundry mark is visible, and it is a reproduction rather than an authorised cast.
Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light surface wear to the patina that is consistent with age.
Dimensions: 42 x 6 x 19 cm (h)
