A leather desk portfolio with a mottled tan and brown cover, finished with gilt scrollwork along the top edge and a tooled border around the base. The interior is lined in a rust-coloured moiré fabric and fitted with two document pockets, two smaller stitched pockets, and a writing surface at the base. A black and gilt pen holder is fixed to the lining strip at the base, and the pen is not included. A card calendar sits in a window in the lid, and its monthly cards can be changed. The maker is unknown.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The leather has darkened and mottled with age, and one corner of the base has lost some of its leather finish. One of the document pockets has a small tear along its edge, and there is a star-shaped ink stain on the lining strip at the base.
