This sideboard was made by Truline, a Cape Town furniture manufacturer active through the 1950s and 60s. It comprises three cabinets set side by side: one fitted with a single interior shelf, one with a drop-down door that opens to reveal a drinks cabinet lined in black glass, and one with a drawer above and open storage space below. The whole unit is raised on a sculptural, solid wood base, giving it a floating appearance.
The piece is in generally good vintage condition. It shows minimal wear but remains smooth to the touch;it has been refinished in a new satin varnish.
