A pair of vintage mid-century modern chrome and smoked glass shelving units designed by Richard Young for the high-end British manufacturer Merrow Associates, circa 1970. Both have five bronzed glass 10mm thick shelves.
The frames are crafted from heavy, high-quality flattened rectangular steel finished in polished chrome. The shelves feature thick, curved smoked glass panels with distinct concave curves along the front edges.
Pieces by Merrow Associated are rated as highly collectible due to their limited production runs and exceptional British craftsmanship. During the 1970s, they were sold exclusively through high-end retailers like Harrods and Heal's.
Dimensions: 92 x 31 x 175 cm (h)
Condition: The chrome shows wear on close inspection. Some rust build-up on top of the chrome was removed without scratches, look at the pictures for the detail.
