Three vintage mid-century modern chrome and smoked glass shelving units designed by Richard Young for the high-end British manufacturer Merrow Associates, circa 1970. Two of the units have five bronzed glass 10mm thick shelves, the third is shorted and has four shelves. One of these are slightly different from the rest, as it has been replaced by a smoked glass panel that is slightly thinner.
The frames are crafted from heavy, high-quality flattened rectangular steel finished in polished chrome. The shelves feature thick, curved smoked glass panels with distinct concave curves along the front edges.
Pieces by Merrow Associated are rated as highly collectible due to their limited production runs and exceptional British craftsmanship. During the 1970s, they were sold exclusively through high-end retailers like Harrods and Heal's.

Condition: Good. One glass shelf from the smaller unit has been replaced by a somewhat thinner, smoked glass pane. The chrome shows wear on close inspection. Some rust build-up on top of the chrome was removed without scratches, some areas the rust damaged the chrome, especially on the lower tier of the smaller shelf. It is fairly out of sight.
