A rare, authentic Harry Bertoia Asymmetrical Chaise, produced under licence by Knoll in 2014.
Stamped with the makers mark.
Designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952, this piece stayed a prototype for over fifty years. While the rest of Bertoia's wire collection went into production almost immediately, the asymmetric chaise didn't reach the public until 2005, when Knoll worked with the Bertoia family to finally bring it to market.
This example has a welded steel wire basket frame, fully concealed beneath a custom-fitted upholstered cover that follows the chaise's continuous, sculptural line and anchors underneath using hidden mono-filament lines and metal hooks. The fabric is a high grade Classic Bouclé.
Dimensions: 132 (w) (115 cm at the basket) x 98 (d) x 102 cm (h) and 20 cm seat height.
Condition: One owner, well looked after. The bucket area of the upholstery is slightly darker than the rest - the cover is a little faded.
