Priced per chair
A pair of highly collectible D.153.1 armchairs, designed by Italian master Gio Ponti in 1953.
The D.153.1 armchair is part of the furniture of Gio Ponti’s private house in via Dezza in Milan. This licenced re-edition is produced by Molteni&C based on the original drawings from the Ponti archives. This pair was made and imported from Italy in the 2010s. The chairs feature brass structures with bicolor white-caramel leather upholstery and they bear the screen-printed signature of Gio Ponti.
The design is still in production by Molteni&C, and can be ordered new for over $4 000. Vintage D.153.1's have reached prices of up to $30 000 apiece on auction.
Condition: Good, barely used. One chair has light stains on the seat, made by packaging material when it was in storage. Look at the close-up picture for detail.
