Kiaat, our wild southern African answer to teak, sometimes throws out this prominent two tone contrast of white streaks amongst the dark streams. Some cabinet makers would select wood to avoid that and others to celebrate that natural quality of the tree. No doubt where this woodworker's taste fell.
