Vintage Haberdashery Counter with 16 Drawers (two available)
Please take note - due to the significant risk of damage, Huisraad Modern cannot offer shipping of this item outside of Cape Town and surrounds.
A restored 1950's haberdashery counter with 16 cascading drawers. The cabinet has a glass top and back, with wooden sides. The brass cup handles are authentic.
This haberdashery, as was the habit of shopfitting back in the day, was made with a variety of wood types. We can identify a variety of teak and some Oregon pine for the sides of the drawers. The backs of the drawers were made with a light wood with a fine grain with two colours.
The wood has been sanded and sealed and it has a new 6 mm glass counter top. We've left some of the imperfections as is, for instance at the front of some of the drawers there are some chips missing next to where the glass fronts slide in - look at the pictures.
Dimensions: Partially restored. Good vintage.
Dimensions: 183 x 60 x 91 cm (h)
* We have two identical cabinets like the one on the picture, but please take note that the second one to be ordered does not have a brass ruler on top. It also needs a week lead time, since it still has to be restored.
