Two Morris chairs that may look similar from a distance but are different in crucial ways. The one is made from kiaat, with yellow and dark chocolate shades, and the other one is reddish, made from sapele mahogany.
The kiaat one has horisontal slats in the back and vertical slats in the arm and with a unique metal bar behind the back to control the angle of the back. The mahogany chair has vertical slats in the back, open arms with no slats, and the seat can slide forward for different positions.
Both have new cushions covered in a quality grey weave.
Morris chairs are important precursors to the modernist design movement even though they are not 20th century modernist. The hail from the 1860's and were the first reclining chairs to be made. Some Morris chairs were embellished and had turned legs and other parts, while others had economical designs with straight lines, which showed forwards to the soberness of the mid-20th-century.
Condition: Sanded and sealed. New upholstery.

Returns. Huisraad Modern has a fourteen-day return policy. A refund will be done by Huisraad Modern within ten working days of the return of the product, on condition that it is in the condition that it left our shop, and that it has been shipped on or before the fourteenth working day after the sale has been concluded.
