Six Bill Stephens Bentwood Chairs by Knoll
To be sold as a set of six.
This chair (Model 1305UO) was designed in 1970 by William Stephens for Knoll International. The upholstery covers the front and back of a light shell and continues through the underside. The elegantly sculpted bent walnut arms and frame are characteristic of Bill Stephen’s design. The arms form a circular shape and are connected to the frame by wooden dowels. The arch detail onthe back is particularly striking.
The makers label (Knoll International, Inc.) is underneath the seats.
William Stephens was one of the principal designers with Knoll International through the sixties and seventies and the Design Director of the Design and Development Group of the company in 1971.
