The Grand Windsor (model 444) extendable dining table is the grand dame of vintage Ercol tables and scarcely seen. It is sometimes referred to as the five-legged table, and it has a beautiful and large solid elmwood top on a beechwood base. It takes six to eight chairs.
This table was bought in London in 1958 and has been in the same family up to now.
It has an extending part which can be stowed away under the table when not required, and a size that creates a sense of permanence.
This design is not being manufactured by Ercol any longer.

Condition: Not restored, but very good. Slight wear considering its age. One slight mark, almost not visible.

* Lucian Ercolani
Ercolani was an Italian furniture maker and designer who emigrated at ten years old with his family to London, in 1898. He learnt his skills in the joinery of the Salvation Army. He founded the Ercol Company in 1920 and supplied the government with tent pegs and bentwood furniture during WWII.
After the war, in the late 1940's, he designed his many lines of furniture that made him a household name all over the world. He was a founding member of the industry's guild, the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, and was its Master for 1957-58. Ercol furniture are some of the top crafted furniture in the world, as Ercolani said in his biography: "...the simple chair was the outcome of very good and precise workmanship"

A refund will be done by Huisraad Modern within ten working days of the return of the product, on condition that it is in the condition that it left our shop, and that it has been shipped on or before the fourteenth working day after the sale has been concluded.
