Grafton Everest is a South African company that still makes furniture. This two seater sofa is from the early seventies or even late sixties, in the style of the famous Brasilian designer Percival Lafer. It has an imbuia frame with a canvas hammock and a large, tufted and excessively buttoned cushion that drapes over the sides of the frame. It shows a unique combination of sophistication and comfort. The upholstery is a new silver-grey poly weave and matching canvas.
Condition: Completely restored. The wood beam that pulls the cushion to the frame at the back has a small chip in one end.
Dimensions: 147 x 81 x 91 cm (h) and 42 cm seat height
