Art Deco mahogany gentleman's wardrobe from the 1920's by Compactom Ltd from London. This is a magnificent representation of the culture of gentleman's grooming at the time, with an array of compartments, brackets, trays, rails, and even a little lock-up compartment as part of one of the doors.
Compartments and trays are marked with small Bakelite labels such as 'Requisites', 'Sundries', 'Dress Shirts', 'Shirts', 'Underwear', and so on. This was definitely for the organised man.
Condition: Gently restored, which means it was sanded and sealed in such a way as to preserve the antique patina. One missing steel beam was replaced by a wood beam. Only one of the brackets to hang pants on is still left. The bracket for ties is also broken. A skilful metal worker can replace these.
Dimensions: 127.5 x 52 x 166 cm (h) when closed
