This well-known little crying girl, titled "Bambina" by Bruna Amadia, aka Giovanni Bragolin (1911-1981), is a copy of one of 68 portraits of crying children in the post WWII years in Venice.
Many reproductions made their way throughout Europe and the rest of the world in the mid 20th century and with them the myth spread that the Bragolin crying children pictures were cursed. They were often found, unscathed, in die ashes of burnt down houses. A lot of tongue wagging about that, but not much is written about Bragolin himself. Some refer to him as one of the "big eye masters".
