A vintage sound system from the reputable Dutch manufacturer, Philips. There are a few good reasons why this is an excellent choice for a veteran sound fan. Firstly, it has FM, which gives you access to most South African radio stations, secondly it has awesome seventies retro styling, thirdly, it has a good record player, and fourthly, it is from the first generation of systems with high fidelity (hifi) sound, so it does not sound like the old-fashioned systems - it has clear modern sound with good bass.

Condition: The speed selector inside the record player was broken, so we removed the broken parts, which means the record player can only operate manually (no automatic placement and removal of the needle) and it can only play 33 rpm (long play records) and not 45 rpm (the small seven singles). We thought it was more important to keep the authentic player rather than to replace it. It is possible to replace, though. One speaker also has some wood filler on it. The system shows wear consistent with age, especially the metal frame. All the sound parts have been serviced by a professional.

Dimensions: 36 x 153 x 78.5 cm (h)
