Rare 1950's Ekco Gramophone and Radio in a Walnut Cabinet

R 6,350.00

A special piece produced by Eric Kirkham Cole Limited (Ekco), a British electronics company that existed until 1960. No model or series number is visible on the cabinet, but we estimate it to be from the early 1950's or late 1940's. The record player itself is branded (Garrard), but the original player has been replaced when 78 and 45 rpm records came out and the old players could only do 33 ⅓ rpm.

The receiver has short and medium wave options, but not FM. For an early piece, this unit has astonishingly clear and powerful sound.

Condition: Very good. The player has been serviced and rebuilt by a professional. The cabinet is in good condition - some chips on the seam and on the  louvres by the speaker. Have a good look at the pictures.

Dimensions: 95 x 45 x 82 cm (h).
