The 'Indigenous South African Medical Cabinet' - made to order
A hand made cabinet by South African furniture designer, Glen Napier of Newly Defined. This display case is a modern take on medical cabinets of the early previous century. Like it's predecessors, it is predominantly made of steel and glass, but with rare Knysna yellow wood detail.
The cabinet has three glass shelves and the bottom of the unit is glass too, which, in combination with a glass panel in the top, lets in natural light. It has one door with a hand-turned, spring loaded knob. Although this is a large cabinet, it has a sense of lightness that is enhanced by the interesting South African Indigenous yellow wood leg detail that creates a floating illusion. The rounded top front corners of the cabinet is yellow wood too.
