Occasionally we come across a piece of furniture that we've never seen before, like these antique solid teak blazer display cabinets. We found them in a store that sold rejects in Salt River, but being solid teak, we knew they were not your usual shopfitting cabinets. They either came from a high-end clothing retailer before, or from the walk-in closet of an old Oranjezicht or Bishopscourt house.
Each one is a large teak cube with a full glass window at the back and two sliding glass doors at the front. In the roof is a steel railing on which hangers are hooked.
These cabinets could be applied for whichever display purpose you want. If not for clothing, they could be fitted with a large glass shelf to display smaller objects, or they could be left open and used to display large objects such as chairs or plants like we did. The possibilities are many.
* Please take note: Huisraad Modern cannot ship these cabinets to destinations outside of the Western Cape Metropole. Also, when delivering, we can only place them inside the gate of a property. We cannot move the cabinet up or down staircases since we simply don't have the manpower. They are extremely heavy.
