A rare 1960's Danish sofa with a teak frame and chromed steel fittings. It is also a daybed when the back cushions are removed. It has been newly covered with a light blue fine weave.
Hvidt & Mølgaard was a Copenhagen-based, Danish design and architectural firm which existed from 1944 until 2009. The company was a pioneering force in Danish furniture design and industrialized production in the 1950s, creating furniture that was easy to produce and economic to transport.
Condition: Vintage. Some cracks in the frame had been properly fixed, but is still visible underneath the base cushion. Solid teak frame sanded and varnished. All the chrome parts had been re-chromed and all the cushions are brand new. Has retailer's tag. Three tension box springs on the side were broken and has been replaced with rubber springs.
