A retro daybed, ideal for a stoep or an informal lounge, with veneered sapele mahogany sides and meranti armrests. Like with all the early sleeper sofas, it has a low steel bed that pulls out from underneath the sofa to make a fairly comfortable double bed: the mattress thatis also the seat of the bed, is new, 100 mm high density foam. The base has the original springs and a foam cover. You cannot feel the springs when lying on it, but there frame of the base makes rolling from one side to the other less pleasant.
The upholstery is new, duck egg based textile.
Condition: The wood has been sanded and sealed. The steel lower bed has been cleaned with a steel brush to get rid of corrosion, but not painted. The steel legs have been painted.
Dimensions: 73 (d) 212 (w) x 74 cm (h). The mattress and base are 69 cm wide.
